NON TOXIQUE LOST Vlus
Non Toxique Lost are one of the most important and equally most underrated bands from Berlin's 1980s Industrlal scene. Sprung aus den Wolken, Einstürzende Neubauten, Die Tödliche Doris and also Non Toxique Lost were the core of the movement in the divided city. In the old days, most of their albums came out on cassette only, later they were collected onto vinyls and CDs. After the tragic loss of long-time member Steffen Schütze in 2017, NTL are continuing with their unique vision of music. Vlus is the new album, recorded by 2022 members DJ Vrhovny and Sea Wanton in Berlin and Utrecht. It presents the band in top form, showcasing their songwriting skills, hard electronic beats and Sea Wanton's typical politically influenced lyrics. Rebellentum der
Hirngewaschenen, der Wutbürger, der Schnäppchenjäger, der Mitmacher, wenns gegen
den Gemeinsinn geht. Das Ganze zerstampft, zermahlen von monotoner oder erregt von
fauchender Gitarre, von harschen, agitativen Beats, aber auch verschönt mit
fragilen Keys oder ist es Dulcimer? Dazu rumort Elektronoise, und Wanton schreisingt mit
seiner markanten Intensität seine aufrüttelnden Deklamationen oder flüstert seine Diagnosen.
Als Waffen der Kritik nutzen die beiden ostinate Automatik und beharrliche Loops
oder die kreisende Bassspur bei Solange Du... und bringen dabei Postpunk-Spirit und
postindustriale Schärfe, Einstürzende Neubauten, EBM und Industrial Rock zur Kernfusion.
