DENIS FRAJERMAN / MARC SARRAZY / LOIC SCHILD Paysages Du Temps
Denis Frajerman started as composer in the French experimental Band Palo Alto. With a strong interest in literature and orality as a musician, he collaborates regularly with storytellers and writers for radio sessions, oratorios, or records.
Strongly linked to the work of Antoine Volodine, his first solo album, Les Suites Volodine was directly influenced by his writings. They both share a taste for haunting atmospheres, black humor, witchcraft. Volodine and Frajerman also worked on creations, Des Anges Mineurs, post-exotic oratorio composed for six musicians, singer, narrator, dancer and videographer and Vociférations, cantopera for eleven musicians, ordered by the Radiophonic Creation Workshops of France Culture. Frajerman is also composer of soundtracks for contemporary dance, object theater, animation, short films, documentaries and has developed in recent years as a guitarist an approach to this instrument influenced by folk music from Greece and rural blues of the southern United States. Marc Sarrazy was born in 1970 in Paris, He studied piano and composition since 1976. After some folk-rock experiences in the middle 80s, he has been concentrating on jazz since 1989. His style is a combination between a neo-impressionism touch a la Satie / Debussy and free experimentations inherited from European contemporary jazz. Loic Schild is a drummer who completes this new trio fronted by Denis Frajerman. The album is a tribute to German Krautrock music of the 1970s. Full tracklist: 1. Paysages Du Temps 1 2. The album also has some leanings towards jazz and electronic music and does not always have that driving force. Especially Schilds percussive approach is very much inspired by improvised music. Frajerman adds electronics to the pieces- that abstraction amidst highly melodic music. (...) It may not be the music I hear often, but I found this reflective mash-up of electronics, improvised percussion and keyboards very lovely.

Het resultaat zijn twee heerlijke drones, de initiële 42 minuten werden twee stukken van 21 minuten, die meer zijn dan zomaar een drone maar een waar avontuur vol onverwachte wendingen en klanken, de krautrockgoden van indertijd meer dan waardig. Elke keer brengt Frajerman helemaal iets anders en toch klinkt zijn muziek steeds als van zijn hand. Sterk is dat.

Mit Denis Frajerman, Marc Sarrazy und Loic Schild gehen drei großartige Musiker auf eine gemeinsame Paysages du Temps". Basis des Ganzen sind Frajermans semi-drones aus elektronisch bearbeiteten TibetGongs und Bläserein, die im ersten Teil von Schilds Metallophon und Schlagwerk ergänzt werden und in der zweiten Hälfte dieses gut 40minütigen Werks dann das feinfühlige Klavierspiel von Sarrazy umkreisen. Dass das mal inspired by Pink Floyd, Klaus Schulze, Neu and other Krautrock musicians war, merkt man am Ende aber kaum noch – was in diesem Fall alles andere als ein Fehler ist.

Ed infatti il trio si muove dolcemente su dinamiche in parte rituali, in parte nebbiose, mai condiscendenti né fini a se stesse, intervenendo l un l altro a modificare le carte in tavola come un calendario perpetuo, dove notti e giorni scorrono con lievi cambiamenti e ci portano ad uno zenith oscuro e tumultuoso.
