Roma Amor is a neofolk / dark cabaret band from Italy. Their music is located somewhere between the melodic folk-inflected charm of the 1960s Italian songwriters and the cabaret swoon of French chansonniers, Roma Amor’s music is instinctively romantic and sophisticated, and can be described as chanson noir or folk cabaret. Their self-titled debut album came out on Old Europa Cafe in 2008, followed by Femmina and Occhi Neri. In 2014, On The Wire was released on Klanggalerie, extending the line-up of the group by inviting guests musicians to perform, and extending also the sound to a more sophisticated pop orientated music. Two more albums followed in 2015 and 2018, and in 2022 a double CD was released, with one album being a re-issue of their classic Femmina, and the other being a complete previously unreleased album. Back To Dark is the band's brand new long player. It is a dark slow rock album - with hints of goth and doom, recorded at the beginning of 2026 in Italy. Of course you won't have to miss the band's trademark folk-cabaret style on this album either, but you also get a cover of Throbbing Gristle's Discipline.
