chuffDRONE combines four charismatic musicians, each of them with his or her own approach to Jazz. Four mindful team-players who dive into each other’s musical performance with full commitment. Their contemporary jazz compositions range from ecstatic rhythms to orchestrated silence. They combine energy with poetry, cockiness with perfection. Trusting in the band's collective strength, they melt the boundaries between composition and free improvisation, melting the individual instruments into a pulsating, energetic complex of sound that is very hard to resist. The band's members are Judith Schwarz on drums (whom you know from Other:M:Other and Beyond the Beat), Jul Dillier (piano, Other:M:Other), Judith Ferstl, bass player extraordinaire from Austria and Robert Schröck who plays and repairs saxophones. The group was founded in 2015 with their debut album on Jazzwerkstatt Records, then Actio/Reactio followed five years later, recently, Mosaik came out in 2022 on Ö1 Edition and now we present On, a suite that was developed over the last few years.
