Chugga is one of
Terre Thaemlitz´ fantastic monikers this one means
rhythmic and danceable stuff. He is well known for his work with
labels like Mille Plateaux and for his project Rubato which transfers
Eighties electro classics into ambient music (see Replicas Rubato
for Gary Numan covers or Die Roboter Rubato for Kraftwerk). These
two exclusive tracks come from an unreleased Chugga LP and fall
more into the category of Terre´s infamous fakejazz style.
"A Big 7" comprises two tracks with
a truly large Acid Jazz-like flow. Samples of (I guess) guitar and
melodica are set against gently moving dub insistences and puce
Prog key flowers of a very Gongly nature. Sounds so damn stoned
it makes me hungry for a pizza."
